Inverness has taken the third spot in Colliers UK Hotels Market Index 2024 and was noted as a ‘rising star’ location. Thanks in part to the increasingly strong appeal of Scotland as a tourism destination to both national and international visitors Inverness jumped 3 places up the top 10 list to third place with only Edinburgh and Belfast in front.
Lower land and build costs in the Highlands compared to other regions in the UK means it is an excellent option for investors. There were also high levels of occupancy rates with a steady rise in the past 10 years of year-round visitors all of which helped to improve Inverness’ position.
