LifeScan is a global leader in pharmaceutical products and is one of the largest private sector employers in the Highlands and Islands with some 900 people in the design and manufacture of diabetes and glucose testing kits. It produces 5 billion diabetes test strips per year that are shipped worldwide from Inverness. Its presence in the Highlands has resulted in a range of supply chain opportunities and spin out life sciences companies and expanded the life sciences skills across the area.
